Brand guidelines are a documented set of rules that define how a brand looks, sounds, and behaves across every channel and application. They typically cover logo usage, color systems, typography, imagery style, tone of voice, and examples of correct and incorrect use. Brand guidelines exist to ensure consistency whether the work is produced in-house, by an agency, or by a print vendor.
