Llms.txt

llms.txt is an emerging technical file placed at the root of a website to communicate directly with large language models (LLMs) — the AI systems behind tools like ChatGPT and Claude. It tells AI crawlers how to read and reference the site's content, which pages are most authoritative, and how the business wants to be represented in AI-generated answers. As AI tools become a primary way people discover information, llms.txt is becoming a foundational piece of digital infrastructure.
